Dariya Palty hair dye review

Hello beautiful~

I am constantly being asked how I get my hair this colour and what hair dye I use. The dye that I use is by the Japanese Brand Dariya Palty, in the shade "pure natural". I have been using this dye (in the same shade) since 2009 and I have never changed because I love the results I get, as I often find it difficult to lighten my naturally black hair without bleaching it. I have tried numerous brands here in the UK previously but my hair would never achieve the colour I wanted. I know these days there are all these ombré hair kits which help you achieve this result now but back then I would have had no option but bleach. It occurred to me that Japanese people generally have pretty dark/ black hair so I figured I would get results with a brand more suited to Asian hair. I noticed that in the popular Japanese gyaru trend, and a lot of the girls have a variation of different light browns or blonde hair, I did my research and came across this brand.

Palty "Pure natural"  package designs 2009, 2011, 2014
(does it make me a hoarder for keeping one each time it changes? lol)

comb through cap, Hair treatment infused with camellia oil, agent 2 oxide water, agent 1 dye
also comes with gloves and instructions

when ordering from Hong Kong the instructions come in both Chinese & English

when you order from Japan the instructions are only in Japanese. However the images are pretty self explanatory
How to Use
  1.   Firstly put on the clothes, wear something old or something you don't mind getting dye on, I'd advise you to wrap an old towel on your shoulders like a cape.
  2. Then put on the gloves provided and unscrew the lid from bottle 2 and squeeze into it the entire contents of tube 1. Put the lid back on and shake until the two have mixed thoroughly.
  3. Unscrew the lid once again and replace it with the comb through lid. (before proceeding to dye all your hair it's advised to do a strand test, incase of allergy)
  4. section your hair and then starting at the root of the hair gently squeeze the bottle and comb the dye through your hair to the tips, move on to each section and do the same.
  5. after you have covered all your hair, gently massage the dye into your hair using your fingers (makesure you're wearing the gloves lol)
  6. leave the dye in your hair for no more than 30 minutes
  7. Rinse your hair thoroughly, ensuring that the product is completely washed out
  8. Then use the Hair treatment Provided, really helps condition your hair as this dye can really dry it out.

I recently filmed and uploaded a video on my youtube channel of My hair colour routine using this dye, so please check it out:

Hyper Japan 2013

Mina-san Konnichiwaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! So on Saturday it was the first time that I ever went to a Hyper Japan event like ever. Seeing as I didn't really celebrate my birthday this year I thought I'd check it out and let my Otaku (yes, I am a nerd at heart ^__~ ) side free for the day =D

Now for those of you who aren't familiar with Hyper Japan, it's an event held at Earl's Court Exhibition centre in London, England. It is an annual event that takes place over 3 days, this year it was from 26th-28th July. It's basically a convention for all you lovers of anything Japanese. There were stalls for you to purchase such as Japanese make up and cosmetics, anime, manga, video games, food, clothing and kawaii accessories, cute anime plushies and hentai body pillows cases O.o

There were stalls to try on kimonos, dress up in cosplay clothing and wigs. There was also a Tokyo style transformation area where you could have your hair and make up done gyaru, lolita or Shironuri style.

I dressed up Kogyaru style

Everyone came dressed as thier favourite anime and video games characters, ready for the cosplay parade. There were some who looked amazing. There were live performances from the J pop artist Yun*chi,  Siro-A, kendo and martial arts demonstrations as well as some traditional folk music. Also there were some sexy Japanese cars, gaming areas and sooooooo much yummy Japanese food and snacks. I must have taken like 200 plus photos so I will just post my favourites here...so hard to choose though ugh....

how cute is Yun*chi? >__<

My overall view on the day was it was a new experience for me and yes I did enjoy it. However I don't think I would go again simply because it was a very long way for me to travel and to be honest the venue seemed pretty small when compared with NEC and I went round and did everything I wanted to do within 2 hours pretty much. Guess in my head I hyped it up so much that when I got there I just thought..Meh. I honestly think I would have enjoyed it a lot more when I was younger and would've felt more connected with the other fans there but I don't know why I felt very reserved and too mature and kind of out of place (probably should have come in cosplay too, maybe next year??) LOL think the old age and wisdom is kicking in now BWAHAHAHAHA XD

Circle lens Review - Seeshell Dizoneye Brown and Dizoneye Gray

Hello beautiful people, in this review I will be talking about the Seeshell Dizoneye series. The two colours that I will be reviewing are hazel (brown) and Grey. The Dizoneye series got its name from the famous model/singer Leah Dizon as she was the inspiration for the look.

Dizoneye lenses are manufactured by the South Korean company Seeshell. They have a lifespan of 1 year and are available in powers of 0.00 to -10.00 . They have a 14.5mm diameter and B.C is 8.6mm so they  enlarge your eyes but still look natural. they give you a very cute, innocent and dolly look. These lenses aren't as popular now but can still be purchased at www.lensvillage.com.

.

Dizon Eye Hazel lenses make your eyes a dark brown color that might not be noticeable from a distance on dark eyes. My eyes are naturally dark so they only slightly enhance them, it's only close up you can tell that i have circle lens on, as shown in the picture above. The color is concentrated at the rim and fades away in the middle, blending very well with your natural eye color. Also, there is a black ring on the edge making the lens kind of dolly like, but still a very natural looking color lens.

Dizon Eye Grey lenses appears slightly grey, not very in your face or obvious colour change. They look almost black on dark eyes. I found that they looked slightly more blue-ish in colour rather than grey as pictured in the image above. They enlarge the eys just as much as the hazel ones but I think these lenses gave more of princess look, super cute looking. Everyone almost instantly noticed that i was wearing lenses when i had these in. The color is concentrated at the rim and fades away in the middle and blends very well with your natural eye color. Also, there is a black ring on the edge making this lens also look dolly like, but still very natural looking color lens.

Overall I really like these lenses. They are comfortable, have a subtle and natural eye enlargement, and are super cute. I find that they get dry pretty quickly though so be sure to wear them for an appropriate length of time or keep your eyes hydrated by using eye drops.

I'm pretty stumped for words now (still getting used to this blogging thing lol) so until next time people >_____________~

XOXO

What are circle lenses?

Now some of you may or may not know what circle lenses actually are, or how they are different from regular colour contact lenses. Circle lenses are incredibly popular in Asia and are mainly manufactured in Korea. They can be seen in numerous Japanese fashion magazine and are worn by many Asian celebrities. They are a must have to achieve both Ulzzang and Gyaru looks. The main difference between circle lenses and normal colored contact lenses is that circle lenses make your eyes appear larger. They can make you look more sweet, innocent and doe-eyed.

They are now popular with many young boys and girls, and have become available worldwide via the internet. It's not just Asian people that wear them, they have become very popular with westerners who love Japanese and Korean Fashion.

I have been a Circle lens user for like 7 years now. I have found them to be comfortable, aslong as you don't wear them more than 8 hours as your eyes can become very irritated and dry. They are available in a range of different colours, styles and sizes so the choices are endless, there are so many different looks you can achieve.

In the picture above I am wearing Seeshell Brown lens.

In my next post I will be doing a circle lens review so stay posted, and have a blessed day <3

What does one do next....

So it's coming up to nearly 2 years now since I graduated from university, I ask myself what does one do now? Having a degree in animation but absolutely no idea where to look for a job *sighs* what to do now??? Having spent all this time effort and money at university to get the degree, and after spending almost a year searching for work (procrastinating in between as you do ;P) it seems like there's really nothing out there...Then my computer died on me and I didn't have one for over a year. do I even remember how to use any of the software I was taught? =/ As if I've wasted so much time working myself almost to death doing 2 crappy part time jobs...2012 and all it's traumatic events were quite possibly the worst year of my life...but that's another story...I really miss you Kaka...

However on the 24th November 2012 I got Baptised and gave my life to The Lord. Also on 6th December 2012 my beautiful niece was born. Those are 2 events I truly feel blessed by.

Anyhooo during my time in university I seem to have become quite distant from my dream of becoming an animator. Even though I have completed my degree in animation, at the time I wasn’t really keen on the project briefs and therefore the work I had produced. Hopefully it’s just a phase, and I’ll get back into it? I allowed myself to get too caught up in my modelling, even that I've slipped away from...I Have been neglecting the one thing I used to enjoy more than anything. So I actually bought myself a new sketch pad the other day and some pencils and hoping for the inspiration to create something amazing..I pray my love for art will come back..However everything happens for a reason, and that will only last for a season. I Trust in what God has planned in my life and all the madness has brought me closer to Him <3

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

But the one thing I still have is my passion for anime...well kind of...still watch Gintama but that's about it, Family Guy and South park seem to have taken up a lot of my spare time. Hmm I guess my image is still anime influenced; I love wearing Circle lens, Thick eye liner, lashes etc. However it has evolved from the youtube video I made back in 2010 on my everyday anime eyes look =D

http://youtu.be/cZQRI7Zz0BE

I tend to try to vary between ulzzang and gyaru looks these days...I might go back and make more videos soon.

Since all the drama and depression of 2012 I have been neglecting and turning down all the modelling related work I'm offered. I used to love it. To be honest I stopped wanting to do anything...Just don't know what I want anymore. Modelling was fun but I honestly don’t want a career in it. I worked far too hard at uni to settle for that. I still want to do what I love for a living, drawing anime pictures and creating stories… *sighs* so where does one go from here in order to pursue ones dream…Lord give me a sign.
